Our Story

It started with a door. It became a movement.

Modern Manners is the rebrand of Poised Life Inc — founded by Lorianne Isaacson of Clearwater, Florida, and built on one belief: how you show up changes everything.

Why We Exist

One moment on a Los Angeles street.

In 2009, founder Lorianne Isaacson was walking in Los Angeles when a man let a door slam on her stroller — her six-week-old daughter inside, startled awake. No apology. No glance back. She chose not to carry resentment; she carried a realization instead: manners had quietly disappeared from our society — and the effects, on people and on business, are grave.

What she discovered next became the foundation of everything:

"the totality of manners and etiquette is simply making others feel comfortable. Making others feel seen. Making others feel important."

The confidence gap most of us feel isn't a personality flaw — it's a knowledge gap. Nobody handed us the playbook. When you know exactly what to do, uncertainty disappears — and that realization became her driving force to teach it.

The Founder

Lorianne Isaacson

Lorianne grew up in hospitality and the service industries, then built a career in HR — watching company after company struggle with the same invisible problem: no shared code of how to treat people.

She named the root cause — bad manners — and built the curriculum to fix it: a practical, respectful framework that raises retention, satisfaction, and the customer experience.

"I can only hope to empower you and your business with this knowledge."
